Welcome. Since 1995, I’ve been involved with IT, from my first Linux install, the first website for the Libertarian Party of Maryland – which I designed and maintained from 1996 – 1998, SunOS and Solaris administration, Linux engineering, and software engineering. In 2016 I moved to Florida and left the IT world, except for wanting to relearn the basics of web development and learn graphic design.

The purpose of this website is to show off what I’m doing. As of 2/5/2019 I have four websites that I own and maintain – two WordPress sites, including this one, a utility website using PHP and MySQL for keeping track of data for a Wii Bowling league, and a static page website for a bookkeeper friend. Another website is in the works to tie them altogether.

I’m still learning – Swift programming and iOS app development, and SEO through Udemy. In 2017 I took online classes to refresh myself with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, PHP, and Photoshop. As a software engineer I primarily coded in Java, but I wanted to go back to working with the front end and not so much the back end. I will be coming back to Java when I work on taking my iOS apps and creating Android equivalents.

I’m maintaining a subscription to Adobe Creative Suite for making print and web graphics. I will be blogging my progress with these tools and the successes I have with the work I produce.

This is the first post here and will be posting more.
